The Upper Palatinate is a landscape for bon vivants and nature lovers. Guesthouses, beer gardens and restaurants serve dishes made of best ingredients which fields, forests and the numerous ponds of the region have to offer. As a matter of course, also international delicacies are to be found on the menus. The innkeepers are especially proud of the culinary creations of the Bavarian and Bohemian cuisine, e.g. wild boar roast, traditional potato dishes, fish and mushroom dishes. An Upper Palatinate carp, baked or steamed, is an unparalleled regional culinary delight.
